This write-up is an excerpt of the Best Seller Novel "Jolly Roger" written by Jide Forbes.
Soon to be produced as a Movie. Divided in three parts, set in the 11th century this story is a mini-series of complex, multi layered thriller adventure that brings three different legends together in one fiction-
"It was a battle of death as hell was let loose when the three most dangerous groups of sea robbers incidentally collided on an island. With each group claiming Supremacy and ownership of the island, they devised various means of wiping out each other......"
- RONA ISLAND-
Far back in the 11th century; towards the northern European sea, there was an island called "RONA", this island served as the hideout and treasure bank of some notorious sea robbers who had been operating in this part of the world. These sea robbers were known as "The Pirates".
Headed by captain silver; a tall muscular hairy man with long beard, the pirates had been robbing nearly every ship sailing pass the northern sea and successfully hiding their treasure on the island. On the island they planted their flag; a black flag, drawn on it is a skull and two crossbones, this black flag is widely known as "jolly roger". The purpose of the flag is to signify to all other ships sailing towards the island that it belongs to them "THE PIRATES".
-SCANDINAVIAN INVASION-
The northwest part of Europe was being invaded by members of the Scandinavian race known as the "VIKINGS". They wanted to accomplish their mission by raiding all the countries in northern Europe. As their fleet of ships was sailing round the British Empire, they sighted an island which was not yet invaded. So they decided to have a look; The leader of the Vikings, Captain Bellamy; a tall man with long blond hair, ordered his men to sail towards the island, they sailed all round the island and anchored at the southern part of the island. They ransacked the whole island and found a treasure house (Heavily locked with chains) located at the middle part of the island. On a nearby hill, they sighted the pirate's black flag (Jolly Roger), Bellamy ordered his men to remove it and replace it with theirs (A red flag with Viking ship drawn on it). The Vikings settled on the island, drinking the Pirates rum and consuming their food.
-BATTLE OF THE SEA WARRIORS-
Meanwhile, for days the pirates had sailed off, busy robbing cargo ships, when captain silver got satisfied with what they had gotten, they decided to set back to the island. On reaching home they could not believe their eyes, first of all their flag had changed color and logo, as they were getting down from their ship, sounds of gunshots were the first sound they heard. The Vikings fired at them sporadically, the pirates fired back and they got engaged in a gun-battle.
It was a very tough battle between the sea warriors, both sides were losing men rapidly, the pirates were the first to converge on the northern part of the island while the Vikings converge at the southern part where their ship was anchored, both captains were scared of losing more men, so they were on a quiet lookout for one another.
-THE SEALORDS-
Also far away from Rona Island in the north-west part of the French empire; a group of robbers were being wiped out from the city by the French local vigilante, they overpowered the robbers and were killing them one by one, so the rest of the robbers sailed away from the French empire. For more than ten years these notorious thieves had been terrorizing the empire, the villagers along with the vigilantes decided to put a stop to the menace by wiping them out finally. This group is the notorious group known as the "BUCCANEERS".
Headed by their newly elected captain; Rex, the Buccaneers managed to sail very far away from the French empire, they sailed towards the British Empire. For fear of being recognized by some of French noble men that migrated to the British Empire, Captain Rex decided to look around for a small island to settle down. Fortunately for them, they sighted a small island and decided to settle down there. They anchored at the south-west part of the island, as they were getting down from their ship, they were approached by members of the Vikings who told them to leave that the island belongs to them and they do not accommodate any other race other than the Scandinavian race, but Rex introduced he and his men as sailors and managed to negotiate with them. He was taken to Captain Bellamy and he was told that the only way they can be accommodated is for them to join him in fighting the pirates occupying the other part of the island, since that was the only option left for Rex and his men, they agreed to join the Vikings in waging war on the pirates.
Meanwhile Thomas; a young and intelligent pirate was looking around through his binoculars and he saw everything that happened including the arrival of Rex and his crew. He told his captain all that he witnessed.
